CivTechSA and the SmartSA partners have teamed up to share datasets with the public in order to identify opportunities to improve the quality of life for San Antonio residents by hosting our first Datathon Competition Oct. 19-21st!
Our challenge areas focus on Transportation, Access to Services, and Sustainability.
We will be accepting team proposals until Oct. 8th (no more than 6 people per team), and invite developers, engineers, data scientists, and civic technologists to apply!

As more people move to San Antonio the need for reliable and affordable transportation services increases.
Help us find new insights to improve rider experience, affordability, and increase ridership.
The City needs to be able to support its residents as it grows and changes. From environmental and conservation efforts to affordable housing, we need to better understand the impact we are having and how to continuously improve the quality of life for residents.
As part of the City’s goal to create a connected, resilient, and inclusive San Antonio, we need to consolidate and improve the accessibility and effectiveness of SmartSA services. Help us identify opportunities to combine existing services and create new ones.
Thank you to everyone who turned in a proposal!
We will be picking 7 teams for the Datathon Competition October 19-21st. Final Teams will be announced October 10th and notified via email so stay tuned!
